Dr Sherine Gabriel


Dr. Sherine Gabriel
Executive Vice President of ASU Health

Dr. Gabriel leads the ASU Health team, leveraging her vast experience in health care. Dr. Gabriel is a physician-scientist who was the dean of the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, the dean of the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey, and was president of Rush University in Chicago, a noted academic medical center that includes a medical college, college of nursing, college of health sciences and graduate college. She is a member of the National Academy of Medicine. 

 

Genevieve Bautista Young


Genevieve Bautista Young
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Bautista Young leads key ASU Health initiatives, ensuring line of sight, coordination, and integration of health-related work cross ASU. She has more than two decades of experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining ASU Health, she held various healthcare leadership positions at Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland Clinic.

 

David Schwartz


David Schwartz
Vice President, Strategic Alliances and Business Development

Schwartz leads the ASU Health effort for clinical partnerships, ASU Clinics, health entrepreneurship and innovation. He brings more than two decades of health strategy, venture and corporate development leadership experience to ASU Health. Previously, he led strategy and business development at Mayo Clinic in Arizona and has consulted for start-up, growth stage and industry-leading companies on health innovation initiatives.

 

Randy Burd


Randy Burd
Academic Executive in Residence and Professor

Burd leads the development for the School of Medicine and Advanced Medical Engineering, research and innovation. He is a senior academic leader and executive who has spearheaded large strategic efforts to advance excellence in higher education by guiding strategy development, leading implementation, and scaling of academic and solutions-based research programs around the globe.

 

Carly Nieri


Michelle Villegas-Gold
Assistant Vice President, ASU Health Strategic Initiatives

Villegas-Gold oversees strategic initiatives for ASU Health and is the primary lead for designing and launching the School of Technology for Public Health, Public Health Technology Corps, and Medical Master’s Institute. Prior to joining ASU Health, she worked in the ASU Knowledge Enterprise for five years, where she developed new strategic initiatives to accelerate and strengthen health research and partnerships in critical areas across the university. She brings over a decade of experience working in the fields of mental and public health, primarily serving women and underserved communities, including as a masters-level counselor and health literacy coordinator.

 

Carly Nieri


Carly Nieri
Executive Director of Development, ASU Health

Nieri serves as Executive Director of Development, overseeing fundraising for all of ASU Health, including the new School of Medicine and Advanced Medical Engineering and the School of Technology and Public Health. She also leads a team of fundraisers dedicated to the College of Health Solutions, the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation, and the Biodesign Institute. Together, the focus is to raise philanthropic funding that advances the health outcomes and wellbeing of the communities in Arizona, and around the world.
